Powder Chase - Day 2

We woke up at the crack of dawn on Sunday to search for the powder. Once the Jeep was packed we headed west towards Copper Mountain on the outskirts of the Town of Frisco. After a decent day of snowboarding we decided to head to our AirBNB - The Happy Hippy Tye Dye House - that Kobi reserved in Leadville - just minutes from Copper. After checking in to the Purple Room at the HHTDH we went across the street to Periodic Brewing for beers and snacks. Later that night while discussing our options in the Purple Room we decided to leave Leadville first thing in the morning and head to Steamboat Springs to continue our search for the goods.

Powder Chase - Day 4

We woke up early AM and took the short drive to the slopes at Steamboat. The night before several inches of snow fell so the conditions were great. After a long day of snowboarding we checked into our new AirBNB - The Village at Steamboat - where we stayed for the next two nights. After checking in we drove to downtown Steamboat Springs where we played trivia and entered a paper airplane contest at Dude & Dans.

Powder Chase - Day 6

We left Steamboat early and headed South East to Winter Park after hearing that the conditions were ideal. This 2-hour drive is a scenic one to say the least. The ride was sunny until we reached the elevation at Winter Park and it was then we realized that today was going to be great. Once we got onto the slopes at Winter Park we knew we found what we have been searching for. 6" of fresh powder fell on top of an already outstanding base making for perfect conditions. There were no crowds and the snow was abundant. We caught the Cirque Sled to the top of the mountain for untouched runs on the Glades in the back-country. This was an epic ending to a great trip. After shutting down the slopes we stopped by Crazy Mountain Brewing in the Winter Park Village for a bread bowl of hot soup and cold beers.
